Congratulations to our Primary and Elementary graduates and thank you to your teachers, Mrs. Smita, Mrs. Dhara, Mrs. Ashlee, Mrs. Kimberly, Mrs. Emily and Mrs. Reese. Your dedication, wisdom, encouragement, hugs, redirection and tireless work guiding the children has aided in their development and prepared them for the next stage. As they say, it takes a village. What a wonderful village we are surrounded by. The children could not be where they are today without you, the parents. We would like to give you all a special thank you! Thank you for entrusting us with your children and their education. Your love and dedication to your children shines through every day.
They have gone through the first plane of development, in the Absorbent Mind, taking in anything and everything, learning to move, walk and control their bodies, developing their ego and discovering their capabilities. These children have spent three years in their classrooms and it could be compared to the growth of a flower. The first year the seed is planted. With care, nurturing, observation, and patience we see a tiny green stem emerge from the soil. During the second year, with more care, nurturing, observation and patience the stem begins to sprout and a bud forms. The third year, the flower blooms, coming full circle; bright, beautiful and unique. It is complete. Not only is it a flower with petals but a whole plant, just as the child is now a whole human being. This whole human being is ready to bloom into an entire garden. To quote Dr. Maria Montessori “We are confronted with a considerable development of consciousness that has already taken place, but now that consciousness is thrown outwards with a special direction, intelligence being extroverted, and there is an unusual demand on the part of the child to know the reasons for things.” She understood the child of 6 was ready to discover the world just as these children who have completed the Primary Program are. Children, next year, you will be in a new classroom, a new environment and learn new material. We know you are prepared and are excited for your journey.
Please help us celebrate our Primary graduates:
Aadhirai, Wrigley, Matthew, Arya, Senna, Parker, Coleman, Blaire, Piper, and Jack B.!
We also need to take a moment to acknowledge our Elementary students who will be moving on. We are grateful to have had the pleasure to watch you grow and see the light in your eye when you discovered something new. You have been true leaders for the younger students, always willing to help, lending a hand or a sympathetic ear, being an apprentice in the Nido classroom, helping in the community and sharing your all of your talents with everyone. There aren’t enough adjectives and accolades to describe each and every one of you. Yet, we know you all possess a strong strength in character and are armed with all of the tools you need for your next chapter. We know that you are going on with knowledge, kindness, character, patience and leadership. Remember to be kind, be generous and be true to who you are. Congratulations to you all. We should all remember Dr. Maria Montessori’s wise words when she said, “Our care of the child should be governed not by the desire to make him learn things, but by the endeavor always to keep burning within him that light which is called intelligence.”
Please help us congratulate our Elementary graduates:
Sydney, Claire, Annaliese, kylie and Micah!
The resilience of the children is something to be in awe of. The adaptation and assimilation they have gone through, especially in these past few months , is something the adults should strive to have. We must continue to learn and grow from the children, for they are the future.
“Children are human beings to whom respect is due, superior to us by reason of their innocence and of the greater possibilities of their future.”
– Maria Montessori
